Using both Classical and vernacular Chinese, Shehui Heimu’s contents included stories about people or anecdotal events written in the form of notes or tales and fiction which tended to allude to contemporary social problems and political scandals. It also published jiji xiaoshuo (martial-arts combat fiction). It is unclear whether this magazine had any relation with the magazine of the same name published in Hong Kong in the post-war period.
